Cayla Neipris

Cayla Neipris is in her first season as a Goalkeeper Coach of the UC Santa Cruz women’s soccer program. She previously served as the assistant coach for the Banana Slugs for three years and was involved in all aspects of the program from recruiting, to scouting, to game day management. Coach Neipris was an integral part of the staff being named 2021 Coast-to-Coast Conference coaching staff of the year and played a key role in the Slugs winning the ACAA conference championship in 2019.  

Neipris is also the Assistant Director of Athletics & Recreation-Facilities & Maintenance at the University. Before relocating to Santa Cruz, she spent two years as the Graduate Assistant at Agnes Scott in Decatur, Georgia while earning her Masters in Sport Administration from Georgia State University. At Agnes, she assisted in all aspects of the program, including designing and implementing goalkeeping training, supervising scholar-athlete study hall, and recruiting future Scotties.

Prior to her time at Agnes Scott, Cayla spent a year as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. While at Allegheny, she helped guide the Gators to a record-setting season which was highlighted by three players receiving All-NCAC selections including an all-conference goalkeeper.

Neipris is a graduate of Vassar College where she was a goalkeeper for the women’s soccer program and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She holds a USSF “F” coaching license and a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping II Diploma.
