AT UCSC: Played in 24 games as a sophomore, shooting 40.9% from field. Career-high four assists in road win 1/30/20 over Pacific Union. All-ACAA Academic team. Played in 11 games her freshman year, going 3-16 field goals and totalling six assists.
HIGH SCHOOL: Top 10%, high honors at Canyon Springs HS, receiving the highest GPA out of all African Americans on campus, higher than a 4.0 GPA each year.
Averaged 5.2 points, 2.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals for the Cougars as they made the CIF-SS playoffs. Defensive player of the year. Third team all league. Travel ball for LPF (Level playing field).
PERSONAL: Parents are Isolene and William Powell. Siblings are Arianna Williams, Alicia Williams, Alyssa Williams, William Powell, Sherise Powell, Jared Powell.
Picked UCSC because she fell in love with the campus the first day she visited, from the amazing scenery and the meaning of house 8. It wasn’t too far or too close to home, as well as having one of the greatest Women's Studies programs.
Admires her sister Sherise because "she always follows her heart and never lets anyone get in the way of her dreams."
Hobbies/Personal interests include helping people, love to learn new things, and binge watch shows on Netflix. Last but not least, she also loves to draw, write poetry, and help others.
