
Banana Slugs In Second After Day One of PCSC Championships

LOS ANGELES, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz women's swim and dive team had a strong start to the 2026 PCSC Conference Championships, recording 231 points on Day One to sit in second place with CSU East Bay sitting in first with 307.5 points.

- 1000 Free: Sadie Breen was the top finisher for UCSC, taking 10th overall with a time of 10:40.34 with Paiten Tobey and Hannah Love taking 13th and 16th in 10:44.74 and 10:48.23.
- 200 IM: Kirsten Boyle led the way for UCSC in the 200 IM, recording a fifth place finish with a time of 2:07.58 while Maya Chan and Lily Wolfinger took 10th and 11th in 2:01.10 and 2:07.18 in the consolation final.
- 50 Free: Katy Hawk set a program record in the 50 free, touching the wall in 23.78 seconds to take fifth while Medha Raghuraman took 11th in 24.13 seconds with Fiona Lei taking 16th in 24.82s.
- 800 Free Relay: The Banana Slugs A relay team turned in a fourth place finish with a time of 7:39.24.
- 3 Meter Dive: Â Paige Vicente and Briseis Valenzuela finished the 3m dive prelims sitting 1-2 with 433.70 points and 370.25 points, respectively.
