
UC Santa Cruz Performs Well on Day 3 of PCSC Championships

MONTEREY PARK, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz men's and women's swim and dive teams showed well on Day Three of the 2025 Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference, earning two podium finishes to highlight the performances. After three days of competition, the men's team sits in first with 1127.5 points with Biola trailing closely behind in second with 1019 points. The women's team is in fourth with 748 points.

Men's Meet Highlights
- 500 Free: Michael Fusinati took seventh in the event with a time of 4:41.34.
- 100 Back: Asher Kates and Brandon Le took seventh and eighth overall, touching the wall in 50.37s and 50.80s.
- 100 Breast: Karsten Hsiao finished in fifth place with a time of 57.00s to highlight the Slugs efforts in the 100 breast.
- 200 Fly: Luke Scanlon set a new program record in the 200 fly after dropping 1.69 seconds from his seed time to take third, touching the wall in 1:50.15.
- 200 Medley Relay: The 200 medley relay team of Brandon Le, Karsten Hsiao, Andrew Koika, and Kyle Reitan took third overall after combining for a time of 1:31.96, edging out Biola by just .05 seconds.
Women's Meet Highlights
- 500 Free: Honour Dufresne took seventh in the 500 free with a time of 5:07.77, dropping 2.58 seconds off her seed time. Â
- 100 Breast: Sadie Breen and Lily Wolfinger took fifth and sixth in the 100 breast as the duo touched the wall in 1:05.03 and 1:05.15.
- 200 Fly: Kirsten Boyle and Katy Hawk took seventh and eighth in the 200 fly, finishing in 2:07.75 and 2:11.64.
- 200 Medley Relay: The Banana Slugs ended day three with a fifth place performance in the 200 medley relay as Medha Raghuraman, Lily Wolfinger, Fiona Lei, and Tereza Shea combined for a time of 1:46.63.
