SANTA CRUZ, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz women's and men's soccer teams had six student-athletes on each side named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams, announced by the organization on Tuesday, November 25.
On the women's side, the Banana Slugs student-athletes selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team were
Camille Anneet,
Emilie Brack,
Sydney Boyd,
Amaya Espardinez,
Erin Freeman, and
Tatiana Fernandez. All six carried at least a 3.85 grade point average.
On the men's side, UC Santa Cruz saw
Michael Braun,
Alessandro Castro,
Jackson Chandler,
Soren Groessl,
Gavin Lane, and
Lawyer Mamaril selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team. All six student-athletes received the honors with at least a 3.70 grade point average.
The Academic All-District Women's and Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or started in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.
