Gruender places 28th in 100 backstroke at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Maddy Gruender continued her record-setting senior year on the third day of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
In Friday's early session, Gruender placed third in her 100 Backstroke race in 57.57. Overall, Gruender finished 28th in the country in the event. It's her second top-30 national finish this week as Gruender placed 23rd in the 200 Freestyle yesterday.
On Saturday, the Banana Slugs will conclude the NCAA Championships competing in the 400 Freestyle Relay prelims at 8:40am Pacific. Gruender is scheduled for the 200 Backstroke 7:30am Pacific. Finals will begin 4:00pm Pacific.
