Eric Jackson repeated as Conference Men's Runner of the Year and Helena Janku became the second Banana Slug to win Women's Runner of the Year as the Coast-To-Coast Conference (C2C) announced their annual awards on Tuesday.
Jackson won his third consecutive conference title in October. He followed that up in November by earning All West Region and becoming the first Banana Slug All-American in 41 years after a Top-40 finish at the Division III Championship.
Janku follows Riley Martel-Phillips as C2C Women's Runner of the Year after the sophomore won the C2C title with a PR. Janku also earned an All West Region honor and then led the team at the NCAA Championship by finishing 113th. It was the fifth-best individual national finish in program history.
The Banana Slugs swept the C2C Rookie of the Year awards once again. Camden Jaureguy earned the men's honor after finishing ninth at the C2C Championship. The women's honor went to Elena Stanciu, who was runner-up at the C2C Championship. Hanna Hekkanen, a junior majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, earned the Conference's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
In addition, head coach David Klech and assistants Natalie Marquardt and Davis Kepon repeated as C2C Coaching Staff of the Year award winner. Coach Klech led the Banana Slug women to their second-consecutive NCAA Championship appearance, and both men and women three-peated as Conference champions.
