The Banana Slugs had a great game today and played with high intensity. After kickoff, the Banana Slugs made many good plays and had many good shots on the goal. At the beginning of the match a pass from Sydney Boyd to Camille Anneet resulted in Anneet's beautiful shot, but the Pioneer keeper saved the shot. However, in the 18th minute, Anneet sent over an outstanding cross to Amaya Espardinez, who scored on a volley making the score 1-0!
Â
With the Banana Slugs having possession most of the game, they continued to send balls through the 18-yard box, yet the Pioneer's keeper made some outstanding saves. In the 23rd minute there was a one-two play that led to a goal by Boyd, who shot the goal outside the box and went right over the goalie's head with an assist from Espardinez, making the score 2-0. The Banana Slugs continued to keep possession and get the ball in the goal. In the last couple minutes of the half, Boyd made a cross to Alexandra Torres, who one-touched it to Caitlin Walters who finished and made the score 3-0. It was Walter's first career goal.
