ANGWIN- UC Santa Cruz opened up an 18-0 lead and never looked back in their 71-36 win over Pacific Union.
The Banana Slugs improved to 3-0 after their third-straight road win.

Kaylee Murphy's layup with 3:13 left in the first quarter capped the opening burst, while the Pioneers missed their first seven shots and committed six turnovers.  The Banana Slugs led by 24 at halftime and led by as much as 37 late in the second half.
Tess Oakley-Stilson led UC Santa Cruz with 25 points on 7-11 Field Goal shooting. Ashley Kowack added 11. Megan Wegis had a team-high seven rebounds off the bench.
UC Santa Cruz overall shot 26-55 from the field (47.3%) and had a 39-25 rebounding advantage over the Pioneers.

The Banana Slugs have their home opener Saturday afternoon when they host Pomona-Pitzer at the West Field House.
