The Banana Slugs wasted little time against the UMass Darthmouth Corsairs, jumping out to an early 12-4 lead behind baskets from Danielle Tyner, Sarah Reuter, and Emilie Ngo. The Banana Slugs climbed to a 14 point lead with a Bria Tate three, a layup from Tyner, and a three point play from Reuter, giving UCSC a 20-6 lead with just over a minute left in the first. A timely three from the Corsairs brought the run to a halt for just a moment before Danielle Tyner scored the last basket of the quarter to put UCCS up 22-9 heading into the second.

UC Santa Cruz continued to pour it on in the second as they outscored UMass Darthmouth 16-4 with Sarah Reuter and Bria Tate leading the charge as the duo both added four points. The strong second quarter put UCSC up by as much as 27 points at 38-11 but UMass Dartmouth hit the quarters final jumper, sending UC Santa Cruz into halftime leading 38-13.

The two teams went an even 11-11 in the third quarter with Alyssa Jackson leading the charge for the Slugs with six points and three rebounds with two three pointers. Katie Busch brought in seven rebounds in the ten minute stretch while added three points of her own with a shot from deep.

UMass Darthmouth came to life in the fourth but couldn't stop the Slugs attack. The Corsairs outscored UCSC 18-15 in the quarter but it wasn't nearly enough as UC Santa Cruz earned the 64-42 victory in the end.
