SANTA CRUZ - UCSC closed its men's soccer season with a 1-0 win over University of the Pacific Wednesday.
UCSC, the Bay Area Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion with a 10-0 record, was 12-3 overall.
Greg Williams scored the only goal 85 minutes into the 90-minute game. Goalie Walter Dods saved the day for UCSC when he tipped a shot into the post and it deflected out.
"Our defense shut down UOP," UCSC Coach Thomas Chapin said. "We relied on them, mostly. "
