Box Score CLAREMONT, CA -- The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs were defeated by the Pomona-Pitzer Saghens 84-75.
UCSC led most of the 1
st half but trailed 38-37 at half time. The second half had the Slugs give up a 24-6 run at the beginning of the half. In the first day of the David Wells classic, the Slugs were lead by
Spencer Wells 20 points, and
Matthew Ponce's 9 assists. UCSC outshot Pomona from the field but the Sagehens 18 offensive rebounds were a decisive factor in the game.
The Slugs face the Claremont-Mudd Scripps on the second day of the David Wells Classic on Saturday November 30, 2013.
