SANTA CRUZ, CA -- Skye Vendt-Pearce of UC-Santa Cruz is the Association of Division III Independents Women's Soccer Player of the Week after contributing to all three goals the Slugs scored in a 3-0 victory over CSU Hayward.
In the only game of the week for UCSC (7-2-1), ranked #8 in the West Region, she gave the Slugs a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute of the contest with regionally No. 9 ranked Hayward, by stealing a pass and converting it into a netter. Vendt-Pearce, who played 48 minutes in the game, added an insurance goal in the 61st minute, beating two defenders before drilling a shot over the opposing keeper. She also assisted on the game's third goal, totaling 11 points this season on five goals and one assist. |
