The team, who finished with a 12-6-1 regular season record, will host the NCAA DIII Western Regionals this weekend. First on Saturday, the University of Puget Sound will face off against Claremont Mudd-Scripps. Start time is set for 11:00 AM. Then at 1:30 PM, the host Banana Slugs will play Chapman University. The winners of the two Saturday contests will meet eachother at 1:00 PM on Sunday. The winner will advance to the next round of the NCAA Championships. All matches will be held at the Lower East Field on the UCSC campus. Earlier this season, UCSC defeated Chapman 1-0 in an away match. This will be the third time in four seasons the team has qualified for postseason. Their previous two postseason runs both ended in first round losses on the road. |
