OAKLAND - Hitting from all over the floor, Susan Cahn established a new UCSC scoring record Tuesday night, with 32 points in a 78-23 victory over Mills College. Cahn, a guard-forward and Coach Shevy Schindler's top scorer, topped her previous best (and team record) of 30 points.
"She had three layups and the rest were all from outside." Schindler said. "Mills put a box-and-one defense on her, but she just beat it." Cahn's total came on 16 field goals and no free throws. The one-sided victory was pleasant for UCSC, with each member of the team getting into the scoring column. Lylace Blake added 14 points and Val McGee 10 for UCSC, now 3-17 on the season.
