The women fell to 1-9 with their two losses.
"These are class teams we are playing," said women's coach Shevy Schindler. " I know the score doesn't show it, but I'm pleased with the way we're playing right now."
Saturday's game was highlighted by a matchup pitting UCSC's Gwyn Adams out of Santa Cruz High against former cross-town foe Becca Rosser of Pomona, a Harbor High graduate.
Adams scored six points while Rosser netted five.
Susan Cahn led UCSC with 12 points after scoring a dozen Friday. Adams scored 10 points in Friday's game.
San Francisco State's junior varsity led at the half by only six points, but switched to a zone defense that held UCSC to only three points in the first 10 minutes of the period.
"As soon as we adjusted back to the game we stayed right with them," Schindler said.
