PERSONAL: Melinda chose UCSC because she likes the campus and wanted to play volleyball for UCSC. What she likes most about Santa Cruz is the campus. Her hobbies are volleyball, ping pong, and running. Favorite food is eggplant parmesan, sushi, and flaming hot Cheetos. Favorite music is everything but country and her favorite athlete is Logan Tom and Misty May. The favorite movie is the Titanic, the best class taken at UCSC was Intro to Acting, and my favorite place in Santa Cruz is the beach. Melinda has been playing volleyball for 10 years. Played club for San Gabriel and went to Junior Olympics. Her parent's names are Jim and Irene Tom, has two brothers, Michael (26) and Stephen (25), and one sister Christina (22).
