Appeared in 34 sets for UC Santa Cruz as a setter…Recording 120 total assists, 8 service aces, and 36 digs…Season-high 19 assists versus Johns Hopkins and New York University.
2023 Season - Freshman
Appeared in 74 sets and had 3 kills, 2 assists, 17 service aces, 67 digs, and 1 block. She had a season-high 8 digs versus Christopher Newport.
HIGH SCHOOL: National Honor Society at Kamiak High School in Western Washington. MVP and Captain, All WESCO team 2 seasons in a row.
Played Club for Seattle Juniors, qualified for Nationals three years in a row.
PERSONAL: Parents are Hector Ponzo (Dad) and Leslie Ponzo (Mom). Has two sisters Maya and Estela, and two cats, Frisco and London. She chose UC Santa Cruz because "I loved the volleyball program and the world-class marine biology department." Says the most influential person in her life is her grandma, Jan Brogger, because "she is always supportive of me, a great listener, and the person who first introduced me to volleyball when I was 7 years old."
Enjoys snorkeling, baking, reading, puzzles, and hiking.
