AT UCSC: Played in 22 games as a sophomore, averaging 2.4 points and 1.2 boards. Career-highs of 9 points and 4 rebounds 2/2/18 at St. Katherine.
Played in 20 games as a freshman. Averaged 1.3 points a game with 80% shooting from free-throws. Season-high 5 points 11/25/16 at Pomona.
HIGH SCHOOL: Her senior year she averaged 9.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists at Cathedral Catholic HS in San Diego. Made Union-Tribune All-Academic team both her junior and senior years.
PERSONAL: Alaina is daughter of Xavier and Colleen Alvarez, has a sister Brenna. Most influential people are her family "because they have always supported me."
Picked UCSC because it presented multiple opportunities: for a great education to continue to play basketball and one of the best environments. "Not many people get to go to school in the forest, while also being 5 minutes away from the beach."
