PERSONAL:  Son of Jeannine Guarino and Erik Groessl, has a sister Sofia. Says the most influential person in his life is Dad Erik because "I strive to be like him, and he motivates me to do everything I do." 
Chose UC Santa Cruz because "I loved the town and the vibe when I visited, and it has a great psych program." Hobbies include watching soccer, playing FIFA, going to the beach.
