No. 19 Women's Golf Takes 8th at Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The No. 19 UC Santa Cruz women's golf team traveled east to compete in the Williams Fall Invite on Saturday and Sunday at the Taconic Golf Club. Facing a competitive 15-team NCAA Division III field, the Banana Slugs earned an eighth place finish with a total score of +70 as a team. UC Santa Cruz was led by Olivia Lew who finished in 11th, shooting +10 across the two days, including a +3 showing in round one with an eagle on the 10th hole. The Banana Slugs will return to the West Coast to host The Hollins Cup at the Pasatiempo Golf Course on October 12th and 13th.

Day One
UC Santa Cruz kicked off the tournament on Saturday with a strong, balanced performance, posting an opening-round team total of +30. In addition to Lew's +3, UCSC saw Maya London and Samantha Show shoot +8 and +9 on the day while Adeline Truong and Elana McGrew carded +10 and +16.

Day Two
On Sunday, the field as a whole struggled in the harsh conditions in Massachusetts. Adeline Truong and Olivia Lew led the way on the second day, shooting +6 and +7 while Shaw and McGrew shot +11 and +16. Maya London rounded things out with a +20 as the team posted a final round score of +40, bringing their two day total to +70.
