SANTA CRUZ, Ca. - Join us from April 9 through April 20 as we rally around the UC Santa Cruz Athletics and Recreation Department as part of the UCSC Spring Give '26 Campaign! Your gift to the Athletics & Recreation Banana Slugs Fund will have a profound impact on our Recreational Programs and NCAA Division III Athletics.

This Is Home
Athletics & Recreation serves as a gathering space for students, staff, and community members enjoying the fields and spaces each day. We continue to put our facilities as a focal point for improvements. This summer the running path on the East Upper Field will undergo a full renovation, outfitting the iconic half-mile path with an all-weather surface to enhance the experience for users. We broke ground on improvements to the East Tennis Courts to restore them and our ability to host practices, competitions, camps, and intramural and club activities for years to come. As these projects get underway, we continue to look ahead and will start renovations of the outdoor 50-meter Olympic-size swimming pool available to students and members. We will also engage in planning projects for the East Lower Field, the East Field House, and the Boating Center at the Santa Cruz Harbor after the completion of the Murray Street Bridge project.
Â
These projects honor our history while positioning us for continued growth. Together, they reflect our commitment to creating spaces that support health, connection, and community. This is just a small step forward as we continue to advance our campus and make this a space people can call home.
Â
Your generosity helps provide the resources needed to excel at the highest levels of competition and serve our entire campus community. Campus wellness continues to see record participation, and your donation will have a lasting impact on the lives of students and the Banana Slugs community.
Â
The first 100 donors who make a minimum donation of $50 will receive a free entry to the second annual Run Like a Slug 5k scheduled for May 15, 2026!
