
Shaw Leads Banana Slugs at Westbrook Invitational

PEORIA, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz women's golf team earned a seventh place finish at the Westbrook Village Invitational over the weekend, shooting +49 across the two days of competition at the Westbrook Village Golf Course, hosted by George Fox University. Samantha Shaw was the standout performer for the Banana Slugs, tying for fifth place after shooting 73 and 72, finishing +3 overall.

As mentioned, Samantha Shaw was the leader for UCSC, earning a tie for fifth with rounds of 73 and 72. Shelly Areepitak finished in a tie for 24th with a 73 on day one and an 84, shooting +15 overall. Elana McGrew and Adeline Truong finished in a tie for 31st with the duo both shooting +17. McGrew shot +12 on day one and +5 on day two while Truong went +11 and +6. Maya London took 39th place with a +21, shooting +14 and +7 while Olivia Lew ended in a tie for 41st with a +23, going +7 and +16 on the two days.
