
Slugs Win Four Events on Day Two of PCSC Championships

LOS ANGELES, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz men's swim and dive team had a stellar day two of the PCSC Championships, maintaining their first place spot with 1007.5 points while Biola University trails in second with 826.5 points. The Slugs picked up strong wins in the 200 free relay, 100 fly, and 200 free.

- 200 Free Relay: The Slugs started the day with a dominant win in the 200 free relay, winning by nearly three seconds as Kyle Reitan, Andrew Koika, Charlie Hussain, and JJ Stoen combined for a program record time of 1:20.10.
- 100 Fly: Andrew Koika set a program record in the 100 fly, winning the race in 48.07 seconds while Kyle Reitan, Jude Robinson, and JJ Stoen went 4-5-6 in 49.42s, 49.43s, and 49.70s.
- 400 IM: Asher Kates led the charge in the 400 IM, taking down the program record with a 3:58.36 to finish in second place while Sebastian Santiago also earned a podium spot, swimming a 4:01.43 to take third.
- 200 Free: The Slugs saw another individual victory, this time out of Massimo Reyna with the senior touching the wall in 1:38.77 while Kent Nishida and Bryson Schmid took sixth and eighth in 1:41.75 and 1:42.52.
- 400 Medley Relay: The Banana Slugs closed out the evening with another victory as Greyson Davies, PJ Fortune, Andrew Koika, and Kyle Reitan combined for a program record time of 3:16.12. Notably, Greyson Daivs set the program record in the 100 back with a time of 48.38s to lead off the race.
