ORANGE, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz women's swim and dive team swept their Southern California road trip, defeating Whittier College on Thursday at the Lillian Slade Aquatics Center before outperforming Chapman University to end their trip on Friday at the Zee Allred Aquatics Center. The Slugs perform next in the PCSC Championship in Monterey Park, CA, on Wednesday, February 11th, through Saturday, February 14th.

Whittier Results:

200 Medley Relay: The Banana Slugs opened the meet with a 1-2-3 finish, as the A relay of Greyson Davies, PJ Fortune, Charlie Hussain, and Bryson Schmid won in 1:32.64.
1000 Free: Dylan Blietz led UCSC in third at 9:53.25. Ido Haiby (10:24.02) and Henry Kiesby (10:49.18) finished fifth and sixth.
200 Free: Bryson Schmid (1:44.47) and Jude Robinson (1:45.28) finished second and third. Michael Fusinati (1:50.21) and Drake Howard (1:53.06) took seventh and eighth.
100 Back: Kent Nishida won the event in 52.15 seconds. Asher Kates (52.82) and Tennyson Smith (56.85) finished second and fifth.
100 Breast: PJ Fortune won in 58.23 seconds, leading a UCSC sweep of the top three spots. Sebastian Santiago (59.26) and Jack West (59.28) followed.
200 Fly: Greyson Davies led UCSC in second at 1:57.29. Sam Caplan (2:00.85), Kaleb Wolfinger (2:01.53), and Israel Gonzalez (2:08.42) finished third, fourth, and sixth.
50 Free: Kyle Reitan won the sprint in 20.91 seconds. Andrew Koika (21.21), Massimo Reyna (21.22), and Charlie Hussain (21.60) took second through fourth.
3m Dive: Eoin Hempenstall took first place with a score of 281.30 points. Charlie Shortt (204.15) and Trevor Masters (168.05) finished second and third.
100 Free: Andrew Koika won the event in 46.47 seconds. Bryson Schmid (46.96), Lucas Blietz (47.75), and Adam Sinclair (50.71) took second, third, and sixth.
200 Back: Tennyson Smith finished second at 2:09.31.
200 Breast: Jack West claimed victory in 2:10.11. Calvin Tam (2:12.68), PJ Fortune (2:15.60), and Henry Kiesby (2:21.53) finished second, fourth, and sixth.
500 Free: Massimo Reyna finished second at 4:42.81. Dylan Blietz (4:46.85), Ido Haiby (5:10.62), and Henry Kiesby (5:11.71) took third, fifth, and sixth.
100 Fly: Kyle Reitan took second at 51.86. Jude Robinson (52.27), Charlie Hussain (53.49), and Israel Gonzalez (1:00.61) finished third, fourth, and sixth.
1m Dive: Eoin Hempenstall completed the diving sweep with 295.70 points. Charlie Shortt (204.60) and Trevor Masters (171.30) took second and third.
400 IM: Sebastian Santiago (4:06.66) and Asher Kates (4:11.03) finished second and third. Greyson Davies (4:24.92) and Kaleb Wolfinger (4:27.25) took fifth and sixth.
400 Free Relay: The UCSC B relay of Kyle Reitan, Andrew Koika, Charlie Hussain, and Adam Sinclair won in 3:10.33.

200 Medley Relay: The Banana Slugs opened with a 1-2 finish, as the A relay of Greyson Davies, PJ Fortune, Andrew Koika, and Kyle Reitan won in 1:30.59. The B relay of Kent Nishida, Sebastian Santiago, Charlie Hussain, and Bryson Schmid took second at 1:32.17.
1000 Free: Michael Fusinati won the event in 9:50.79. Dylan Blietz (9:55.37) and Ido Haiby (10:15.97) finished second and fourth.
