Box Score 1 BELTON, TX. - The UC Santa Cruz women's tennis team secured a 5-2 victory over Hardin-Simmons University on Friday morning in Belton, Texas, improving their season record to 9-6. Later, the Banana Slugs strolled to a 5-2 win over the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The Slugs swept doubles and only dropped two singles matches en route to their second win of the day. With today's wins, the No. 38 Banana Slugs now improve to 10-6 on the season and will be heading to Georgetown to play Southwestern University at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning.

In doubles play, the Banana Slugs clinched the point by winning two of the three matches. At the top spot,
Sara Beckman and
Natalie Sprenger delivered a commanding 6-2 win. Meanwhile, the duo of
Sweden Van Houten and
Chloe Wu secured a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.?
Transitioning to singles, UC Santa Cruz continued their strong performance. Beckman led the way at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph. Sprenger followed suit at No. 2, winning 6-2, 6-3. Van Houten added to the tally with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles. Wu rounded out the singles wins at No. 6, defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-2.?
The Banana Slugs will continue their Texas road trip with upcoming matches against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Southwestern University.

Chloe Wu won sailed through the first set 6-1, but UMHB made it tough in set two with Wu earning a 7-6 victory. No. 6
Daniela Christian steamrolled her competition 6-2, 6-0 to wrap up the singles victories and cap off a 2-0 day for the Banana Slugs.
