SALISBURY, Md. – The UC Santa Cruz women's soccer team earned a dominant 6-0 victory over Regent University in the Coast-To-Coast Women's Soccer Conference Tournament Quarterfinal on Thursday afternoon at Salisbury University. The Banana Slugs will be back in action tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. PST when they take on the No. 2 seeded Mary Washington Eagles in the C2C Semifinals. Notably,
Sydney Boyd set the program record for career assists with 19 goals in her career after recording two on the day while adding a goal to the box score as well. UC Santa Cruz played stifling defense, holding Regent shotless while the offense put up 50 shots with 24 on goal. The Slugs saw goals from

Sydney Boyd,
Amelia Fung, and
London Mamaril.
How It Happened
The Banana Slugs wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as
Sydney Boyd sent a pass over to
Cassidy Segrell who struck the back of the net in the 7th minute. The Slugs had three opportunities prior to that as
Emilie Brack and
Erin Freeman both had shots saved in the 2nd minute before Freeman's follow up shot rang off the post. UC Santa Cruz recorded 26 shots in the first half, but Segrell's 7th minute goal was the difference as UCSC carried their 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Out of the halftime break, the Slugs opened the flood gates as
Sydney Boyd got the scoring going at 56:06 to double the score at 2-0. Just 15 seconds later,
Camille Anneet made it 3-0 with a near sided goal. UC Santa Cruz added three more goals with Boyd finding
Tatiana Fernandez who sent one to the back of the cage in the 72nd minute.
London Mamaril scored her first career goal in the 81st minute before
Amelia Fung scored 22 seconds later to put the finishing touches on a 6-0 victory for the Banana Slugs.
