UC Santa Cruz women's golf finished the first day of the American Southwest Conference Championship tied for fifth place.

Mikaela Paracuelles started off strong with a birdie and led the team shooting a two-over 74, leaving her tied for fifth overall. Isabella Esquivel shot a 7-over 79, Alyssa Yee shot a 9-over 81, and Elana McGrew shot an 18-over 90 to round out the Banana Slug contingent.Â
