Men's tennis beats Schreiner to close Texas trip

Benjamin Wang won at No. 3 singles on Sunday.
Less than 24 hours after a 9-0 loss to seventh-ranked Trinity, UC Santa Cruz men's tennis rolled past Schreiner 7-2 to finish their Texas roadtrip. UC Santa Cruz improved to 9-9 after their first dual win in the last four matches.

Against Schreiner, the Banana Slugs had a 2-1 advantage after doubles. Praneet Varade and Radin Sadeghi won 8-2 at No. 3, while Ryan Lam and Benjamin Wang won 8-4 in their first match this season in the No. 1 position. The momentum continued to singles, where the Banana Slugs won five matches to take the win. The Banana Slugs overpowered their hosts in the 4, 5, and 6 positions, only allowing a combined three points in the six sets. Lam set the tone with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4.

"I thought we did a good job of getting back on track and taking care of business all throughout the lineup," Lam said after his victory.
The Banana Slugs return to Santa Cruz for their home finale against William Jessup on Saturday April 20th.
