Ghaffari praised the support surrounding them. "There was great support from the team today. I love the energy, it was a super tough battle but the grind didn't stop. Santa Cruz slugs are tough PERIOD. I'm so proud of my Sweden, who was fighting in her third set together with me. Her insane endurance and comeback kept motivating me. I love this team so much!" Â
Â
Van Houten went on to further emphasize "The energy today was incredible. Everyone fought so hard and didn't give up, no matter the score. At one point, me and Melody were both down in the third set, and faced multiple match points against us. I'm honestly speechless at our result and all I have to say is how proud I am and how much I love this team."Â

The Banana Slugs (8-3) will have the week off for finals before opening their Spring Break road trip on March 24
