st minute on a John Laidlaw strike. Volkamer's tally came after a cross fromÂ
Tyler Allred. It was Volkamer's first career goal.
The Banana Slugs looked to hold on for the tie, but with just 37 seconds left in the game, the Stags scored to escape with the victory.
Volkamer had a match high three shots, all of which were on frame.
Kian Van der Meer played all 90 minutes in goal for the Banana Slugs and tallied five saves in his college debut. The Banana Slugs had a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks and CMS had a slight 11-10 shot advantage.
The Banana Slugs will wrap up their Southern California road trip on Sunday as they visit old rivals University of Redlands. Kickoff is set for 7 pm.
