CLAREMONT- UC Santa Cruz closed their Spring Break trip with a 7-2 loss to third-ranked Claremont-Mudd on Thursday evening.
The team took the first point on a hard-earned doubles win by the duo of
Sam Hall and
Andre Mardirossian.
All the singles matches had outstanding rallies before the Stags eventually pulled away.
Aziz Albayouk closed the match for the second straight contest. He won the first set before his opponent rallied to tie, sending the contest to a decisive third set. In the tie breaker, Albayouk broke through with a 6-1 run to win the contest and finish undefeated for the week.
The Banana Slugs (4-7) will have an exhibition match at Cabrillo College on Thursday April 6th.
