CLAREMONT- Four Banana Slugs made Saturday's quarterfinal rounds of the ITA West Regional.
In Flight B, both
Julia Chiaradia Azzi and
Natalie Sprenger fell in straight sets to opponents from Caltech and Pomona-Pitzer respectively.
In Flight C,
Jolie Seemayer made it to the semifinal after she came back to defeat Whittier's Keeley Arendt 2-6, 6-3, 10-3. In the semifinal two hours later, the sophomore lost to another Whittier player Maci Davis in straight sets.
Daniela Christian lost her Flight C quarterfinal to Caltech's Grace Wilson in a 6-4, 2-6, 10-12 slugfest.
Angelina Powers lost to Caltech's Halle Holzbauer in Flight B's Consolation bracket.
With a week of tough competition under their belts, the Banana Slug women next head to Walla Walla Washington to take part in the Whitman Fall Tournament October 7th-9th.
