IRVINE - Avri FInch had a double-double, but a late Westcliff run gave the Warriors a 70-64 over UC Santa Cruz Sunday in Irvine.

The game was back-and-forth in the first half but Banana Slugs managed to lead by one at halftime. The game was tied at 43-all with under 16 minutes. The hosts went on a 13-2 run to push the lead to 56-45 with 12:30 remaining.The Banana Slugs rallied and cut the deficit to four at 64-60 with 1:40 left, but the Warriors went 6-10 on free-throws down the stretch to close out the win.
The Banana Slugs had a 36-31 rebound advantage. UC Santa Cruz shot 44.8% (26-58) on field goals in the game.Finch finished with a season-high 24 points and 10 rebounds. Zino Okah had 16 points off the bench, including 4-7 shooting from three. Abdul Abdullah led Westcliff (6-9) with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
The Banana Slugs next play Division II Dominican Wednesday night in San Rafael.
