OAKLAND - UC Santa Cruz ran their winning streak to 11 in a 25-3, 25-6, 25-8 sweep of neighbors Mills College on Wednesday evening.
It was the first match for UC Santa Cruz (12-1) in Northern California after three consecutive weekends in the Los Angeles area to start the season.
The Banana Slugs got quick starts in each of the three sets and did not look back as all 19 women on the roster got playing time. They hit .544 for the match, tallying 36 kills and holding the Cyclones to just 7. UCSC also outserved Mills 16-0 in aces.

Audrey Gilbert and sophomore
Samantha Taylor each had 7 kills to lead the balanced UCSC offense. Gilbert also had two blocks.
Giovanna Martins led UCSC with four aces and 17 digs. UC Santa Cruz have their home opener on Saturday evening when they host UC Merced in the West Field House.
