Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer drops road game at Menlo

ATHERTON (9-18) – The Banana Slugs finished up their two match road trip as they took on NAIA member Menlo College in Atherton. The Oaks scored a goal in each half to win 2-0.
 
In the first half, the Banana Slugs' lone shot of the came off the foot of Chella Grattet but was saved by Oaks' goalkeeper Michelle Gonzalez. The Oaks would get on the scoreboard with 4:39 left to give the Oaks a 1-0 halftime lead.
 
In the second half, the best chance to equalize came when Grattet again got off a shot in the 72nd minute but it was saved. The Oaks would add their final tally on a goal with 8:12 left. The final chance in the match for the Banana Slugs to score came with 4:50 left in the match off the foot of Abby McCollam but her shot went right.
 
Grattet had two shots to lead the Banana Slugs. Each team had eight total fouls.
 
The Banana Slugs return home on Monday as they will start a six-match homestand as they will take on NAIA member William Jessup University at the Lower East Field. Kickoff is set for 4 pm.
