SAN LUIS OBISPO (3-4) – The Banana Slugs continued their road trip as they took on NCAA Division I/ITA Tennis #50 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in San Luis Obispo. The Mustangs won every single match that was played and won 7-0.
In their last match, the Banana Slugs won 7-2 over Whittier College on February 18th in Whittier while the Mustangs won 4-0 over Santa Clara University in San Luis Obispo earlier today.
The Mustangs won all six singles matches. Two matches – the #5 singles match between Ryan Dugan of the Banana Slugs and Alexander Stater of the Mustangs and the #6 singles match between Floyd Penners of UC Santa Cruz and Roman Shenkiryk of Cal Poly – finished with the Mustangs' representative winning 6-0, 6-2. The tightest singles match of the day was the #2 singles match between Magnus Ibh of the Banana Slugs and Dominic Bechard of the Mustangs. Bechard defeated Ibh 6-3, 6-7, 10-3.
The Mustangs won two doubles matches while one match was not finished, giving Cal Poly the one doubles point.
