WHITTIER - UC Santa Cruz defeated their second-straight Division III opponent by beating Whittier College 7-2 on Sunday morning.

"Everyone fought really hard today," said senior Chad Le Duff. "We were all a little tired from the match yesterday, but we made it our goal to leave it all on the court today."

The Slugs opened the day with three victories at doubles and won the match by Le Duff, Ryan Dugan and A.J. Flora winning three singles matches quickly in straight sets.

"Sweeping doubles helped us a ton going into singles and I'm happy we came out with a defiant victory," Le Duff said.

The Slugs have two weeks off before their next match at Division I Cal Poly.
