FOREST GROVE (10-17) – The ITA/NCAA Division III #31 Banana Slugs played the final match of their fall schedule as they took on Pacific University in Forest Grove. The Boxers won 7-2 over the Banana Slugs.

In their last match, the Banana Slugs lost 8-1 to George Fox University yesterday in Newberg while the Boxers won 8-1 over Willamette University on September 29^th in Forest Grove.

The Bruins won five singles matches while the Banana Slugs won one. In the #1 singles match between Ryan Dugan of UC Santa Cruz and Sean Murphy of Pacific, Dugan defeated Murphy 6-0, 6-3. In the #4 singles match between Matthew Kermin of the Banana Slugs and Quentin Gonzalez of the Boxers, Gonzalez defeated Kermin 6-0, 6-1. In the #5 singles match between Yaroslav Yanin of UC Santa Cruz and Joey Hu of Pacific, Hu defeated Yanin 6-1, 6-2. In the #6 singles match between Phillip Lopar of the Banana Slugs and Jonathan Chung of the Boxers, Chug defeated Lopar 6-0, 6-0. The tightest singles matches of the day were the #2 singles match between David Jackson of UC Santa Cruz and Rayden Murata of Pacific and the #3 singles match between Ryan Gee of the Banana Slugs and Reyn Miyagawa of the Boxers. Miyagawa and Murata won their matches 6-3, 6-2.

The Bruins won two doubles matches while the Banana Slugs won one. In the #1 doubles match between Dugan and Chad Le Duff of UC Santa Cruz and Koby Murata and Rayden Murata of Pacific, Dugan and Le Duff defeated K. Murata and R. Murata 8-1. In the #2 doubles match between Gee and Jackson of the Banana Slugs and Hu and Miyagawa of the Boxers, Hu and Miyagawa defeated Gee and Jackson 8-1. In the #3 doubles match between Kermin and Yanin of UC Santa Cruz and Gonzalez and Sean Murphy of Pacific, Gonzalez and Murphy defeated Kermin and Yanin 8-1.
