CLAREMONT (1-29) – The Banana Slugs started their seven match road trip as they took on NCAA/ITA Tennis #2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The Stags won every single match that was played and won 9-0 over the Banana Slugs.
In their last match, the Banana Slugs lost 9-0 to Army on March 11th in Santa Cruz while the Stags defeated University of Chicago 7-2 in Claremont on Thursday.
The Stags won all six singles matches. In the #1 singles match between Chadwick Stone of the Banana Slugs and ITA/NCAA Division III #8 Nikolai Parodi of the Stags, Parodi defeated Stone 6-3, 6-4. In the #2 singles match between Chad Le Duff of UC Santa Cruz and ITA/NCAA Division III #7 Daniel Morkovine, Morkovine defeated Le Duff 6-0, 6-4. In the #3 singles match between Derek Levchenko of the Banana Slugs and Patrick Wildman of the Stags, Wildman defeated Levchenko 4-6, 6-3, 3-1 (Ret.). In the #5 singles match between Alexander Flora of UC Santa Cruz and Jay Yeam of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Yeam defeated Flora 6-0, 5-7, 1-0. In the #6 singles match between Ryan Dugan of the Banana Slugs and Julian Gordy of the Stags, Gordy defeated Dugan 0-6, 6-0, 6-0. The tightest singles match of the day was the #5 singles match between Sean Hollister of UC Santa Cruz and ITA/NCAA Division III #31 Alex Brenner of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Brenner defeated Hollister 6-2, 7-5.
The Stags won all three doubles matches. In the #1 doubles match between Dugan and Stone of the Banana Slugs and ITA/NCAA Division III #3 Gordy and Morkovine of the Stags, Gordy and Morkovine defeated Dugan and Stone 8-4. In the #3 doubles match between Flora and Levchenko of UC Santa Cruz and Parodi and Yeam of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Parodi and Yeam defeated Flora and Levchenko 8-3. The tightest doubles match was the #2 doubles match between Hollister and Le Duff of the Banana Slugs and Haffner and Tilly of the Stags. Haffner and Tilly defeated Hollister and Le Duff 8-6.
