SACRAMENTO (3-18) – UC Santa Cruz participated in their third track event of the season as they traveled to Sacramento to take part in the Hornet Invitational. For the second consecutive event, the Banana Slugs' opponents included schools from all levels of intercollegiate athletics.

In the men's competition, in the 5,000 meter run, Zahid Anjum finished twenty fourth with a time of 15:51.70. In the 1,500 meter run, Paul Colosi finished sixty second with a time of 4:11.35. In the 110 meter hurdles, Brandon Hill finished twenty fifth with a time of 16.98. In the 800 meters, Raymond Breault finished thirty fifth with a time of 2:00.31. In the 400 meters, Maxwell Burkhart finished forty fifth with a time of 53.56. In the 400 meter hurdles, Alex Belyea finished twenty fifth with a time of 1:04.23. In the 200 meter dash, Brandon Hill finished fifty fifth with a time of 24.04. In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, Kevin Feng finished sixteenth with a time of 10:14.54. In the decathlon, Carson Lysik had the best finish of the day for the Banana Slugs as he finished eighth. In the hammer throw, Jeff Zhang finished thirty fifth with a 30.77 meter throw. In the javelin, Zhang finished twenty first with a 42.76 meter throw. In the shot put, Kevin Raja finished thirty fourth with a 10.24 meter throw. In the discus throw, Zhang finished thirty ninth with a 23.69 meter throw. In the pole vault, Damiano Carrioli finished fifteenth with a distance of 4.35 meters. In the high jump, Davis Kepon finished eighth with a jump of 1.95 meters. As a team, the Banana Slugs finished fourteenth in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

In the women's competition, in the 1,500 meters, Sydney Gutierrez finished thirty third with a time of 4:49.27. In the 100 meter, Nancy Alvarado-Zavaleta finished sixty third with a time of 13.65. In the 400 meters, Natalie Marquardt finished fortieth with a time of 1:01.84. In the 800 meters, Sydney Gutierrez finished twenty ninth with a time of 2:20.67. In the 200 meters, Alvarado-Zavaleta finished sixty first with a time of 28:17. In the 5,000 meters, Shannon McClish finished eleventh with a time of 18:10.63. In the 400 meter hurdles, Rachel Sveiven finished thirty second with a time of 1:16.11. In the shot put, Jordynn Dorado finished thirty fourth with a 10.78 meter throw. In the long jump, Siena Benavides finished eighteenth with a 5.16 meter throw. In the javelin, Gillian Davis finished fortieth with a 19.91 meter throw. In the pole vault, Natalie Marquardt finished thirty second with a 3 meter throw. In the discus, Dorado finished forty fifth with a 31.20 meter throw. In the high jump, Madison Wright finished nineteenth with a 1.50 meter jump. In the hammer throw, Dorado finished fortieth with a 35.36 meter throw. As a team, the Banana Slugs finished twelfth with a 4:09.78 time in the 4 x 400 meter relay.
