ANAHEIM - Playing for the first time in nine days,UC Santa Cruz defeated Chapman 8-1 in their dual meet on Sunday.
THe Banana Slugs prevailed in all three doubles matches, highlighted by No. 1 team of
Ryan Dugan and
Chadwick Stone winning a 9-8 thriller.
"We were firing on all cylinders. After sweeping the doubles the guys applied more pressure on the singles winning 5 out of 6" said head coach Mike Napoli.
"A strong performance by Sean, Derek and especially AJ not dropping a game," Napoli said.
The Slugs return to action on Saturday the 25th when they face Division III rival Cal Lutheran at home.
