SANTA CLARA (2-13) – The Banana Slugs played the first match of a back-to-back as they took on NCAA Division I member Santa Clara University in Santa Clara. The Broncos swept the singles matches and won the match 7-0.  

In their last match, the Banana Slugs defeated George Fox University 7-2 last Friday in Santa Cruz while the Broncos lost 4-3 to Boise State University in Boise on Sunday.

The Broncos won all six singles matches. The #5 singles match (Kamram Khan of Santa Clara vs. James Soper of UC Santa Cruz) and the #6 singles match (Sebastien Mathieu of the Broncos vs. Jake Ashdown of the Banana Slugs) finished with a 6-0, 6-1 score in favor of the Broncos. In the #1 singles match between Ashot Khacharyan of Santa Clara vs. Chad Le Duff of UC Santa Cruz, Khacharyan won 6-2, 6-3. In the #2 singles match between Robert Seby of the Broncos and Derek Levchenko of the Banana Slugs, Seby won 6-3, 6-2. In the #4 singles match between Connor Garnett of Santa Clara and Ryan Dugan of UC Santa Cruz, Garnett won 6-1, 6-3. The tightest singles match of the day was the #3 singles match between Adrian Sirovica of UC Santa Cruz and Andrew Gu of Santa Clara. Gu defeated Sirovica 7-6, 6-1.

The Broncos won two matches while one match was not completed. In the #1 doubles match, the Broncos' team of Gu and Khacharyan defeated the Banana Slugs' team of Kyle Richter and Sirovica 6-2. The tightest doubles match was the #3 doubles match between of Khan and Liang of Santa Clara and Dugan and Le Duff of UC Santa Cruz. Khan and Liang defeated Dugan and Le Duff 6-3. The #2 doubles match between Garnett and Seby of Santa Clara and Levchenko and Stone of UC Santa Cruz was not completed.
