SANTA CRUZ- The UC Santa Cruz men's basketball team continued its winning ways Saturday night, pounding a young Cal-State Monterey Bay team 105-30.
The Banana Slugs are now 12-8 on the season with two games to play. UCSC has now won seven of its last eight games.
"We've been doong all the little things to win games," said UCSC coach Duane Garner. "We're making the extra pass on offense and hitting the open man. We're also playing good defense."
Chad Wells played solid defense for UCSC Saturday night and also scored 10 points. Everyone played for the Slugs and everyone scored. Jason Semanisin led UCSC with 17 points, and Adam Todd put in 16. Matt Wittmer added 15 points.
Leading the Slug on the boards wa Stephen Abreu with 10 and todd with nine.
Damian Patrick of Monterey led all scorers with 22.
