Club Rules & Expectations

Care & Use of Equipment

Don’t leave sails up; rig only when ready.
Clean boats after use, fold sails, remove trash.
Complete check-out forms and report missing/damaged equipment.
General Guidelines
Follow the Dockmaster’s instructions at all times.
Life jackets required for skipper and crew.
Wear proper clothing: closed-toe shoes, appropriate attire.
No smoking, alcohol, pets, or fishing on boats.
Backpacks may be subject to search.
Guests limited to one per month.

Member Responsibilities

Know and follow all club and maritime rules.
Keep membership current.
Return boats on time; $20/hour late fee for overdue returns.
Responsible for crew and guest safety.
Report accidents or repairs to the Dockmaster.
Sailing Restrictions
Boats may be towed on weekends; conditions may limit sailing.
No sailing during northerly (offshore) breezes, Wednesday night races, or when waves exceed skill level.
Maximum heel: 20°; de-power sails as needed.
Visibility must be = 1 mile.
No sailing under the bridge or tying to non-university docks.
2-hour time limit during busy periods.

Youth Sailors
Children under 8 require permission.
Skippers under 16 not allowed; ages 16–18 are restricted based on experience.
