How They Got Here: The Christopher Newport women's soccer team enters the 2024 C2C Women's Soccer Conference Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 14-0-2 record, standing as just one of five teams without a loss this year. Most notably, the Captains made headlines around the country this year when they defeated Wisconsin La Crosse, setting the NCAA Division III soccer record for consecutive games without a loss, accumulating 74-straight games without a loss at the time. They're just the second program in NCAA history to reach as many games without a loss and now sit at 83 games (74-0-9) heading into the C2C Conference Tournament.

The Captains led the charge in the C2C All-Conference honors as they garnered the Offensive and Defensive Player's of the Year in Hanna Heaton and Reanna Slater while taking home the Coaching Staff of the Year award as well. Identical to UC Santa Cruz, CNU brought in four First Team All-Conference nods and four Second Team All-Conference honors. Among the players to watch for this weekend's tournament will be Slater as the defender has aided CNU's defense in recording 11 shutouts in 16 games, limiting opponents to just 4.1 shots per game, smothering defenses to just 1.8 goals on frame per contest as well. Watch for Hanna Heaton to make an impact as well with the Offensive Player of the Year entering the weekend with 12 goals and 12 assists.

Last season, the Captains won the C2C Conference Championship by way of a 4-2 PK decision over UC Santa Cruz and advanced all the way to the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Elite Eight, falling to the California Lutheran Regals 4-3 in PKs with the Regals going on to win their first-ever NCAA Championship.

How They Got Here: The UC Santa Cruz women's soccer team enters the 2024 C2C Women's Soccer Conference Tournament after finishing the regular season with an 8-2-5 record. The Banana Slugs earned four First Team All-Conference nods with four Second Team honors, including the 2024 C2C Rookie of the Year, Ainsley Gove, who earned Second Team honors as the Slugs' goalkeeper.

The Slugs have been strong all year, only dropping two contests in the regular season to ranked opponents with a 3-2 loss to the (RV) University of Chicago and a 3-0 loss to No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer. UC Santa Cruz features an offense that loves to shoot the ball, averaging 16.2 shots per game which is complimented by a stellar defense that holds opponents to just 8.3 shots per game. The Slugs have scored 39 goals on the season with a 2.60 goals per game average while limited their opponents to just 14 goals on the year for a 0.93 goals against average. Amanda Scott (First Team), Chelyn Ackerman (Second Team), Camille Anneet (First Team), and Sydney Boyd (First Team) account for a large portion of the team's attack with 20 of the team's 39 goals coming from one of these four players. Ackerman, Anneet, and Boyd all sit with 15 points on the season with Ackerman recording six goals and three assists while Anneet has struck five times with five assists. Boyd has been the assist leader for the Slugs with seven on the year while chiming in for four goals while Scott has scored give goals with two assists. Much of the success can be attributed to the team's stingy defense that features First Team All-Conference defender Kristi Truong along with Second Team All-Conference athletes Emily De Los Santos and Ainsley Gove. Gove had a strong showing in her 10 contests this season, allowing just five goals with a 0.63 GAA, recording 30 saves for a .857 save percentage.

Last season, the Banana Slugs earned a 1-0 victory over the Salisbury Sea Gulls in the C2C Semifinal and went toe to toe with the undefeated Captains of CNU. In the 2023 C2C Championship match, the Slugs and Captains fought through a 0-0 double overtime tie with the Captains advancing by way of a 4-2 PK decision. The Banana Slugs outshot the Captains 13-8 in the contest, putting six shots on goal to CNU's two but penalty kicks decided the fate as CNU went on to claim the C2C Championship.

How They Got Here: The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team enters the 2024 C2C Women's Soccer Conference Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 9-5-4 record. The Eagles had good performances against ranked opponents in the regular season, earning a 1-0 victory over No. 24 McDaniel while dropping a close 4-3 loss to No. 18 Johns Hopkins. The Eagles earned four First Team All-Conference nods with two Second Team honors.

Eliza Franklin has been the leader for the Eagles on the offensive side of things, scoring six goals and one assist while Maci Landel has scored one goal and dished out six assists as the catalyst behind the attack. The UMW defense has recorded 11 shutouts in 18 games which can be partially attributed to All-Conference honorees Natalie Anderson, Naomi Knight, and Adriana Thompson (GK).

Last season, UMW finished the season with an 8-9-1 record, falling to Christopher Newport 2-0 in the C2C Semifinal match in Fredericksburg, Va. Look for the Eagles to carry some momentum into the weekend following a high scoring battle last weekend against No. 18 Johns Hopkins.

How They Got Here: The Salisbury Sea Gulls women's soccer team enters the 2024 C2C Women's Soccer Conference Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 5-5-7 record. Salisbury is no stranger to hard fought matches as they played a difficult schedule with contests against four ranked opponents, including No. 25 McDaniel (1-0 L), No. 18 Johns Hopkins (0-0 T), No. 5 Carnegie Mellon (3-0 L), and No. 3 Christopher Newport (4-1 L). The Sea Gulls were well-represented in the C2C All-Conference honors as they brought in four All-Conference nods with Autumn Conway earning First Team accolades while Kristen Ging, Ashley Pantano, and Tori Pietuszka earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

Conway was a strong part of the Sea Gulls backline, serving as a key piece in a defense that allowed just 12 goals through their first 15 matches while Ging dished out four assists in her 17 starts. Pantano ranked second on the team with 10 points following a season with four goals and one assist.

Last season, the Sea Gulls ended the 2023 campaign with a 10-7-2 record, falling to UC Santa Cruz in a 1-0 contest in the C2C Women's Soccer Semifinal match in Fredericksburg, Va.
