| A native of Eureka, Murphy rewrote the record books at UC Santa Cruz. The forward graduated as the program leader in rebounds and assists, as well as fourth in scoring and second in blocks. Murphy averaged a double-double each of her four seasons, becoming the first Banana Slug basketball player - male or female- with 1,000 rebounds. Murphy was Honorable Mention All American by the WBCA in both her junior and senior years, helping UC Santa Cruz to the highest national ranking in program history and going 33-11 combined those two years. Murphy also earned All West Region honors for three consecutive seasons. After graduation, Murphy was signed to the CLIP club in Braga, Portugal, becoming the first Banana Slug to play professionally in Europe. |
