
Luke Holland Named First Team Academic All-American; Marks Sixth Honor in Department History

SANTA CRUZ, Ca. - UC Santa Cruz standout Luke Holland has been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-America® men's track & field/cross country First Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The prestigious honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Holland, a senior Molecular Cell Development Biology major holding a remarkable 3.98 GPA, earns the first CSC Academic All-America accolade of his career.
With this selection, Holland secures a rare place in school history, marking just the sixth time a student-athlete from the UC Santa Cruz Athletics department has received CSC Academic All-American honors.
The Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. As a First Team selection in Division III, Holland stands among an elite 15-member cohort nationwide that boasts an average undergraduate GPA of 3.90.
