Banana Slugs Perform Well at Kim Duyst Twilight XC Invitational

TURLOCK, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz men's cross country team took 11th out of 17 teams at the Kim Duyst Twilight XC Invitational, recording 322 points with an average time of 25:58. The Banana Slugs will be back in action on Sept. 27 when they travel to UC Riverside.

In the Results
The lead pack for UCSC featured Diego Vizcarra, Desi Herrerias, and Caeden Gardner crossing the finish line in 25:49.3, 25:55.9, and 25:57.5, taking 92nd, 96th, and 98th overall. Gilbert Fillat, Sasha Tanasychuk, and Liam Manley followed closely behind, completing the 8k in 26:02.1, 26:09.6, and 26:10.2 with the trio finishing in 102nd, 106th, and 109th. Sean Conley rounded out the top seven with a 122nd finish with a time of 26:25.9.

UC Santa Cruz also saw strong showings from Ethan Vahle (26:27.4), Viktor Kieturakis (26:28.9), Michael Lennox (26:38.1), Alex Wille (26:50.5), and Brennan Rickey (26:55.8) with the group all recording sub 27 minute times on the day.
