ATLANTA, Ga. - The UC Santa Cruz men's tennis team was defeated by the Emory University Eagles 6-1, on Saturday. The Slugs started strong, by winning on the doubles courts but unfortunately were unable to find similar success in the singles. This concluded the second day of the Slugs' busy weekend after their doubleheader in LaGrange on Friday. The Slugs will complete their road trip on Sunday with a contest against East Texas Baptist University at noon.

How It Happened
The bright part of the contest for the Slugs was some stellar play to start the day on the doubles courts. The first win for UC Santa Cruz came from No. 2
Radin Sadeghi and
Mayur Nookala who took care of their competition 6-2. No. 3
Praneet Varade and
Arjun Tandon had similar success in their doubles match which they won 6-3. With the 2-1 win in the doubles, the Slugs looked poised to continue their success from Friday, but after some tough losses in the singles, the Slugs were swept with the final score ending at 1-6. Some notably close singles matches include No. 4
Praneet Varade who won his second set 6-3 but lost the tiebreaker 10-4. No. 5
Benjamin Wang was able to take his match to three sets after a 6-4 set two victory but unfortunately fell in the final set 2-6.
